This is a blog mostly showing my nail polish skills (or lack-there-of on some days) as well as random makeup that I may have permission to post.

Not so plain Jane
Today I just did polish...no art....what?! But this color is so gorgeous on it's own, I'm ok with that! :) This is Zoya "Alegra". Have a great Friday! I'm off to Brunch and to see Magic Mike!

Ante Up!
I rarely paint my nails red. I'm not sure why since that's my go-to for my toes... The weather here is hot and dry and my cuticles leave something to be desired, but what can you do when it hasn't rained in almost a month?! Anyway, this is OPI "An Affair in Red Square" which is a color I love. Such a nice staple red to have in your stash. It's classy and not too hooker-ish of a red :) Then I used my Fab Ur Nails plate Fun 1 with white Konad Special polish. Keep cool out there!

Hello!
I always have issues when I try to use my Hello Kitty designs. I think I get too excited about them! :) I have about 25 different plate designs with Hello Kitty, and all different brands, so it's me, not the plates. I get that weird haze where the polish won't scrape off nicely. Anyway, these didn't come out too bad, so I decided to post. Also, I have been against pure black polish recently because it seems to be what people expect from me in the real world. But, I say screw them :) This is OPI Black Onyx and Konad special polish in Light Purple with Fab Ur Nails Fun 2 plate. Have a great Wednesday!

Random post....
So....I got all of my hair cut off and got some stripeys put in there. Just wanted to make more of a personal post or something :) I have no makeup on, and was still in my PJ's, but here's me! Have a great day.
Zip It!
Didn't have too much time today, but I thought I would rock some of the new Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips from the "Rock of Ages" collection. These are called "Zip It!". Have a great day!

Asian Inspired
Happy Monday! I wanted to use a newer color that I have, but as before, I don't really like this color by itself on my nails. LOVE it in the bottle though! This is OPI "Thanks a WindMillion" from the Holland collection. I used Konad special green polish, and Konad plate M66. Even though the bamboo design didn't come out as sharp/crisp as I would have liked, I think it looks really good. Even though the color is that dusty green and a bit funky, I think the design makes them look kind of classy. Thanks for stopping by!

Blue skies smilin' at me
Hello! So it hasn't rained here in weeks and I thought in honor of clear skies I would do these. However, once they were finished, I was reminded of a child's nursery walls painted all kitchy. I love this blue color, but not necessarily for my fingers. Maybe in with a marble design or as an accent color or something, but not on their own. Anyway, I used OPI "No Room for the Blues", Konad special polish in white, and Konad plate M79. I just think it looked kind of childish. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Night Sky
Hi guys! This is my second ombre mani. I liked the galaxy theme and decided to stay with it :) This is OPI "Yodel Me on my Cell", OPI "Black Onyx" for the ends, Konad special polish in silver for the stars, and a coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust" for added bling. Hope you like it!
Pink Galaxy!
After reading tips by all of the lovelies I follow, I decided to try out an ombre technique. I think it turned out very well. My sister said it reminded her of a pink galaxy. I will be doing a grey/blue to black combo soon to make a night sky one that is similar to this per her inspiration :) This was OPI "Shorts Story" (the light pink) and Nina Pro in "Punki Purple" for the dark. I finished it with China Glaze "Fairy Dust" to make it all shimmery. Then of course Seche to seal it all off. In real life, it was ultra sparkly and kind of looked like something that would be perfect for Barbie or a Disney princess...Seriously, like Tinkerbell vomited on my nails :) HA! Have a great day!

Damn you camera!
So, I bought so crackle polish online from Sephora. It was on sale for like $5 a bottle, so how can you resist when they were $9.50....Anyway, I got this one, "Blasted Opal" (One of the Sephora OPI ones). It's white in the bottle. The pictures do it no justice because it's like a holo, but not. The colors range from yellow to purple depending on the angle and the lighting. I used it over black to try and show the rainbow effect. Alas, no luck. Still looks pretty cool with the majority of it looking purple. It totally sparkles in real life.

Hmmmmm
Hi guys! I love the combination of purple and yellow. It seems like a funky classic, if that makes sense. :) This Konad special polish in Dark purple was a little more of a wine color than the royal purple I would have liked. I think it turned out well though, even with the wine hue. The base is Finger Paints "Art Nouv-Yellow" and Konad plate M76.I like this plate, and I think it will work even better with a different color scheme. BTW, I had settings on my page that blocked people from joining...I don't know why...but feel free to join, or email me at any time! Have a great Friday!

60's Retro :)
Hi guys! Today I went for a 60's retro feel. This is OPI (Ulta exclusive color) "Hot Fun in the Summer-Lime"(2 Coats). BEWARE: Do NOT put this polish on your naked nails! I tried it on one, took it off of that nail, and it looked like someone had colored my nail with a yellow highlighter. I had to buff the stain out. You've been warned :) I wanted a shimmer finish, so I put one coat of BFF Lime Green on top. Then with Konad plate M65, Konad special polish in green. I love how it turned out :)

Ants at a picnic :)
I love this design. It's a Sally Hansen Salon Effect one. It's called "Checker Out". I don't know if it was too humid, or if this was a bad batch, or what happened. I couldn't get a smooth filed edge on any of them. It was so gooey, in fact I can still dent them now, which is about 3 hours later. This is so weird with these. It makes me want to go on a picnic though! I think the color is weird with my skin tone too. Oh well. Some days you hit, some days you miss :)

Backlog Photo for today.
I didn't have time to do my nails today as I am working the graveyard shift at the hospital this weekend. So, here is an older photo of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects strips of which I love so much! These were called "All A Flutter". These were not my favorite once I put them on. I am not the biggest fan of white on my nails, but I loved the outlines of the butterflies. I think a darker pattern on the white would have looked better, and can possibly do just that with Konad designs, but it was cute in the package. Sorry about the blur, but it was the best I could do that particular day :)

Fishnet/Lattice
This is the new Nails Inc fishnet magnetic color. It's called "Spitalfields" and works just like all the other Nails Inc ones. I was really excited to get this, but I'm kind of disappointed. I love the color itself, but the magnet is kind of weak. Actually, the photo looks better than they do in person. I think where the pattern is very close together or something, that it caused the strength to weaken, and not pull the design out as much. This is just my opinion. Also, my index finger nail is very curved, like hooks down from cuticle to tip, so the weakness of the magnet was not able to make the pattern on the tip of my nail. It looks like there is pattern on it after the second "x"part on that finger, but it didn't have any pattern at all. But, the green color is absolutely awesome!

Magnetic week continues :)
Hi guys! Keeping with my magnetic theme, I decided to go with a neutral. I like to mix it up with the types of magnets that are out there. This color is Layla Golden Bronze. I used the magnet from one of the Nails Inc. magnetic polishes. The pictures never seem to do justice to the magnetic polishes, but I try anyway :). In real life, this color is very much like a tiger's eye gemstone. I love those, so that's why I did it :) I should be getting the new Nails Inc. magnetic polish with the Fishnet magnet design today. I can't wait, but until then.... have a great Wednesday!

Star Trek.....maybe :)
Today, I went with the same magnet from the Orly polish I did yesterday. The Sally Beauty Supply in my area had all of their China Glaze magnetic polishes on clearance for $3.29! WHAT?! So I had to get them! This is the China Glaze color "Cling On". I am a Trekkie, so that is just an added bonus :) My nails are so short now, that I may do a different magnetic all week, showcasing different colors. This looks SO different from the one yesterday, it makes me want to try them all! Have a great Tuesday!

Orly Magnetic FX
Today I used my new Orly Magnetic FX polish. I loved this color, but I had to skew it a bit to see the pattern. This color is actually called "Opposites Attract" and it comes with a magnet that makes an "x" design. I bought another one that's called "Paint On Electron" which comes with a magnet that makes this "s" sort of design. I really like the "s" pattern, so I mixed it up. This is the beauty of these Orly colors, the magnets are not attached to the bottle. However, if your nails are long, these magnets will not work for your nails, or just make the design on the tip, because the physical magnet is fairly small. Luckily, (or for this situation), I broke one of mine and cut them all off so it works on my current stubbies.
