This is a blog mostly showing my nail polish skills (or lack-there-of on some days) as well as random makeup that I may have permission to post.

Ok, I am first generation American, and my mother is from Germany. I am totally psyched about this collection. Set to be available August 8th. Who will be out approx $108 when this comes out? Oh yeah!

Royal Inspiration
Happy Tuesday! This purple is from the Sephora OPI India inspired collection. I love it! It's called "Seriously, It's a Naan-Issue". As of today, I don't have a good gold stamping polish. So, I opted for a silver. It's Konad special polish in silver, and Bundle Monster plate 318. I think it looks regal or something, but that's just me :)

Southern belle?
Hi guys! I hadn't done my nails for a few days since I was really enjoying those alien heads I had posted last week. I have this Sally Girl color that I love and wasn't sure exactly what to do with it. I used it as the base color for this design. It's called "Epic" and it is like a neon blue. The photos I tried to take didn't really capture the loudness of this color, so this is the best I could do. What I love about it is even though it is kind of a neon (seriously, it made my eyes hurt when it was plain), it's NOT a matte finish. I like a matte finish, but I don't want to be trapped with it, you know. And even if I wanted it matte, that's what matte topcoat is for, right? :) Anyway, I have been jones-ing for blue...in search of a bottle of Essie's "Bikini so Teeny" which is sold out everywhere I have looked...so I settled for this right now. I used Konad special polish in pastel blue with a Konad plate M56 for the bow motif, and a dotting tool for the polka dots. Even with the tool, I hate my polka dotting skills. I always want to add too many. I think this came out cute though. It reminds me of a southern belle, or Blue Bonnet margarine. Have a great Monday!

The truth is out there!
Hi everyone! I was feeling a bit nostalgic for some great TV shows. Also, I have been swatching all of my polishes, which has caused me to do my nails LESS...It's shocking! And it's also caused me to think, wow, I have a LOT of polish. I'm almost at 500 bottles. It seems ridiculous, but it's my other weakness...eye shadow is my first. Anyhoo.... I bought Orly "Androgynie" and hadn't used it yet. It's somewhere in between a regular polish and a jelly and has tiny and hex glitter. For this particular application, I wanted just a little more sparkle so I added I coat of China Glaze "Fairy Dust". This is a glitter I always go to. It helps give a little more Umph to a polish...like a day or two later when you want a different look, but not to change your polish completely. Who am I kidding, I'm lucky if I wear any for more then three days! Then I saw where it looked kind of "spacey" together and thought, hmmm, aliens. So, my Fab Ur Nails Fun 2 plate came into play. They are actually a very pale/pastel green, and not white. Would be awesome if they glowed in the dark :) Maybe I could double stamp them with glow polish, or they could be extra ghosty looking ones in the background...So many ideas, only 10 fingers! Not fair! Ha! I can't believe how many coats of polish I sometimes have on at one time! This is 2 coats of base (wasn't sure about staining), 4 coats of "Androgynie", 1 coat of Seche, 1 coat of "Fairy Dust", Konad spacial polish for the alien heads, and 2 more coats of Seche. What?! Hope you all enjoy :)

OPI Spotted
Happy Friday! I was so happy to finally find this OPI "Black Spotted" topcoat! It is only available in France, and according to OPI, it will not be released worldwide...from what I had read all over the web anyway. So, I had haggled with a seller on eBay, and got it for $40. Gasp! It seems like a lot to pay, but from what I had learned, it had cost 20 Euros in France, which is about $27. So, with the person getting it in France, the shipping, and them making a few bucks...I splurged. Yesterday I had the Layla Hologram "Jade Groove", so I decided to layer the Spotted over it. It works just like the crackle polish, but you have to put such a thin layer on to get a nice effect. My pinky had a little thicker of a layer on it, but I think the thinner ones like on my middle and index finger look better.

Layla Hologram
I kept eye-balling this color when I went to Ulta, and yesterday I finally caved in. It's so hard to capture a photo of this! Seriously, I had to try like 15 times to get one where it wasn't all blurry or just off. Anyway, this is Layla "Jade Groove". I really love it!

Pink mood polish
I like my new mood polishes a lot! Let me tell you though, they are not the best quality of polish. After work yesterday, it was very badly chipped and peeling at all the edges. Although the yellow to green one didn't wear very well, doesn't mean that the others won't...and it doesn't mean they are not awesome! This one is the same brand, Mia Secret Mood Polish in "purple to pink". Looks like the older post I did with the ombre sponging technique that I referred to as Tinkerbell vomit! Ha! (sorry for being crude) Anyway, have a great Wednesday!

Mood polish
I bought a lot of mood polish on Amazon last week and got them yesterday. I was super excited. This is Mia Secret Mood Polish in "Green to Yellow". The warmer it is, the more yellow the polish becomes. The colder it is, the darker green it is. The pictures I took didn't capture the colors as well as in real life, no matter what I did. You can't really tell, but after 3 coats, I can still see my nail line. Maybe next time I'll do a coat of white under it. I really like it though. The polish dries to a matte finish, but dries very quickly. I bought a set of 6 colors and it was like $22. I love the colors. Finished with a coat of Seche for a nice shiny finish!

Stealing Kisses
Sorry for not posting for a few days. Been trapped in the midst of a polish organization overhaul. You all know how that is! :) Anyway, try as I might, I was very resistant to the trend of pastel creme finish polishes. The OPI Pirates of the Caribbean, for example, did not excite me. Then, they no longer were available and I felt like I HAD to have them. Isn't that always the way? Well, then OPI decided to team up with Ulta for the "exclusive" summer colors. These are just a re-release of other color collections. So this is the "new" OPI "First Names Only" or "Steady as She Rose". I used 3 thick coats. I like it, but I'm still not sure how I feel about creme finishes, but I bought all of them :-)

An oldie but goodie!
I found my favorite polish in the world! It's from 1997 (as far as I could find online anyway) OPI "Route Beer Float" I got it on eBay for $10, so I'm super psyched! I got a new haul of plates as well yesterday. Lots of Hello Kitty and different brand logos. Also, the Amazon seller was super awesome! Go to their site here. I had a great buying experience there :) I didn't want to cover the color that I love so much, so only one Kitty was used.

Oui!
Today, I busted out one of my OLD colors. It's "Eiffel for this Color" from the original La Collection de France. Still looks pretty good! Used one of my Bundle Monster plates, the number of which I can't remember, with Konad special polish in white.
